Mira

The book “Mira”, written by Christopher Frank and translated by Lily Golestan, is a surreal story that depicts a society in which anti-value becomes value. In this society, everyone has to smile at each other, and if someone avoids this, they perform a surgery on him, then put a mask on his face that cannot be removed, and after a while, his face absorbs the mask and remains the same. In this society, there is no such thing as couple, so the concept of marriage and partnership has no meaning and everyone has to have fun and pleasure as a group. Society takes precedence over individuality, and the rights of other human beings are more respected than rights of each individuals.
